Harry Potter Book Night

Thursday, February 4th at 6pm

Macon County Public Library & Jackson County Public Library

February 4th, 2016 will see the second annual Harry Potter Book Night celebrated throughout the world, and the Macon County Public Library & Jackson County Public Library are getting ready to host an unforgettable Night of Spells. The fun kicks off at both locations at 6:00 PM.

On Harry Potter Book Night: A Night of Spells, the library will share the wonder of J.K. Rowling’s unforgettable stories and, most excitingly, introducing the next generation of readers to the unparalleled magic of Harry Potter. Young wizards, witches and muggles will be treated to an evening of games, activities, magic tricks and light refreshments. They are also encouraged to dress up as a Harry Potter book character for our costume contest.

The library will be dressing up the venue and serving up snacks inspired by some of the scrumptious wizard foods in the books – from Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans to Pumpkin Pasties!

Cristen Dando, director of youth services at Macon County Public Library says, “We are so excited to join up with schools, libraries, bookshops and community centers throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and beyond, to celebrate the second annual Harry Potter Book Night. We have always been fans of the Harry Potter books because they get so many children excited about reading.”
