Shadows of Flowers with author Holly Kays

Debuting her new novel, 'Shadows of Flowers,' Holly Kays will visit the Macon County Public Library in Franklin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14.
Set amongst the prairies of Wyoming and the mountains of Virginia, the novel follows the story of Dana Stullman, who has her world turned upside down when her boyfriend dies in a car accident. At just 22 years old, she packs up and moves across the country to escape the reminders, but when a crisis in the wind-swept Wyoming wilderness forces her to confront the past, Dana finds herself having to choose a path for the future.
The event will include a talk and reading by Kays, a slide show featuring photos of the real places described in the book, as well as a Q&A session and a book signing opportunity.
Kays is a writer and journalist living in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Having earned more than 20 state and national awards during her news reporting career thus far, she covers a range of topics for the regional newsmagazine The Smoky Mountain News.
