FREE BLACK HISTORY WORKSHOP FOR KIDS FEBRUARY 18

A free ARTSaturday workshop for elementary school-age children and their families will be held on Saturday, February 18, 11:00 to 1:00, in the Macon County Public Library Children’s Area, weather permitting.  The Black History Month-themed event, “Unsung Heroes,” offers stories, a mural, make-and-take peanut bowls and insect collages, music by Keyboardist/Saxophonist Lionel Caynon, and refreshments.  Produced by the Arts Council and Macon County Public Library, the workshop activities are designed for elementary school-age children.  No pre-registration is needed; all materials are provided.

ARTSaturday is supported by a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.

Contact the Macon Arts Council for details, 828-524-ARTS or arts4all@dnet.net.
