When their parents died in an accident, Flora and Miles were looked after by their governess, Miss Jessel and the housekeeper, Mrs. Grose. But it is Peter Quint (Marlon Brando), the Irish servant, who really rules the house and particularly Miss Jessel who submits herself totally to him. Under Quint's influence, the children receive a fiendish initiation. Nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Actor (Marlon Brando).
