Searching for Birds in the American West

The Jackson County Public Library will host a presentation with Tim Carstens on Searching for Birds in the American West on Thursday, May 23rd at 6 p.m.
Since he retired, Tim has had the opportunity to explore many parts of the American West. Much of this exploration has been in the form of tours with commercial bird watching companies or trips with friends that were largely devoted to looking for birds. In the course of his travels Tim has visited boreal forests, grasslands, mountains, deserts and sea coasts.  The states he has visited include Arizona, North Dakota, Washington, Oregon, California, Texas, Michigan and Minnesota. His past presentations have focused on birds found in North Carolina. This presentation will be about the birds he has seen and photographed during his travels in the West.
This program is free and open to the public. The Jackson County Public Library is a member of the Fontana Regional Library. For more information please call the library at 828-586-2016.
