Were you one of the 230,000 people who came to one of Macon County’s libraries last year?  Did you:
  • check out a book?
  • use a computer or wi-fi?
  • learn something new at a storytime or other event?
  • get answers to your questions?
  • host a meeting or tutoring session?
  • have your taxes completed?
  • research or apply for a job?
Or were you:
  • 1 of the 30,000 people who checked out a library eBook from home or work?
  • 1 of 90,000 visitors who found information on the library’s website?
  • 1 of the 1600 children or caregivers in Macon County visited by the Reading Rover bookmobile?

There is no increase in funding for the library in the new budget.
Hours and services are likely to be cut without additional money.

A public hearing is set for Tuesday, June 9, at 6 p.m. in the Commission Boardroom on the Third Floor of the Macon County Courthouse at 5 West Main Street, Franklin to discuss Macon County's budget for Fiscal Year 2015-16.
