Sylva -- The Jackson County Public Library will host a free 90-minute class on the basics of Microsoft PowerPoint on Wednesday, August 24th at 5:45 p.m.

The class is designed for people who are unfamiliar with Microsoft's PowerPoint presentation software. Library staff member Laura Chapman will teach this introductory class, which will be a hands-on opportunity to learn what a PowerPoint slide is, how to create text and place graphics within slides, and how to create a simple presentation. The class participants must have basic computer knowledge, such as keyboard and mouse skills.

The class is free but is limited to the first 16 people who register. To do so, or for more information, please call the Jackson County Public Library in Sylva at 586-2016. This program is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Jackson County Public Library.
