Sylva-- The Jackson County Public Library will start registration for the Adult Summer Reading Program on Monday, June 3rd. This year's theme is the Great Jackson County Read: Armchair Traveler. Anyone interested can come to the Reference Desk on the second floor of the Library to register.

This year's theme is designed to encourage reading across a wide spectrum of countries, cultures, diverse authors, and genres. Patrons will receive raffle tickets based on the number of pages read between June 3 and August 3. The tickets can then be used to try to win one of several different prizes. Summer Reading Programs aren't just for kids, adults can also enjoy reading and traveling all around the globe from your reading chair.

The Jackson County Public Library is especially grateful to the sponsors of the Great Jackson County Read: Armchair Traveler: BarkWood Studio (Gayle Woody), Baxley's Chocolates, Black Balsam Outdoors, Cullowheegee Farms, Emily Rose Photography, the Friends of the Library Used Bookstore, The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, Nationwide Insurance (Howard Allman), and WCU Athletics. All of these business and organizations have generously donated prizes for the readers. When you interact with these businesses, please thank them for supporting the Library.
