Sylva-- On Tuesday, May 16th at 6 PM, the Jackson County Public Library is hosting the Executive Director of the Balsam Mountain Trust, Dr. Michael Wall. Birds and insects are inextricably entwined. We see it in bird names: Flycatchers, Gnatcatchers, Bee-eaters, and more. But insects are more than just bird food and interact with our feathery friends in amazing ways. Come learn about the love-hate relationship of birds and insects, and how we can create a better world for both in backyards and beyond.
Dr. Michael Wall is an entomologist that is now serving as the Executive Director of the Balsam Mountain Trust. He grew up in the Piedmont of the Carolinas but spent the last 16 years conducting research on bees and other insects at the San Diego Natural History Museum.
