Why a fundraiser for the Library?
The unsung heroes include all the volunteers who give their time and resources to make a difference for all of us. The Friends of the Library work tirelessly to raise money for the Library.
And, oh yeah, the Library has books to check out! Bestsellers, how-to, large print, foreign language and more are on the shelves of the Library. But you can get e-books through the Library 24/7. The Library is bridging the gap by offering a wide range of digital and print resources.
“The unsung heroes include all the volunteers who give their time and resources to make a difference for all of us, notes Lenny Jordan of the Macon County Library Board of Trustees. “The Friends of the Library work tirelessly to raise money for the Library.”
You can help the Friends in their fundraising efforts for the Library. And have fun while you’re doing it! “We are excited to have the Books on Tap fundraiser at Lazy Hiker Brewing. As a Library Trustee, I realize what it means to have a quality Library,” says Jordan. “I hope you will join me in supporting this important community resource. Buy a ticket and come out on October 1, to celebrate YOUR library.”
Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Macon County Public Library, the Friends of the Library Bookstore, Books Unlimited, Franklin Chamber of Commerce, the Clayton Chamber of Commerce, and the Lazy Hiker Brewing Company. Tickets are $25 per person in advance or $30 at the door. Each ticket includes 2 glasses of craft beer or 2 glasses of wine (or 1 of each); 2 soft drinks or water. Finger food will be served.
In addition to food and drinks, there will also be a 50/50 raffle and plenty of fun! Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and you do not have to be present to win. If you’re not familiar with 50/50 raffles, you’re in for a “cash” surprise!
The Macon County Friends of the Library is a 501(c)(3) organization. All proceeds of this event will continue to provide funding for Library programs.
