Brighty of the Grand Canyon

High up in the cliffs above the Grqnd Canyon, a shaggy little burro roams. An old prospector living in the canyon found the little burro running wild along Bright Angel Creek and named him Brighty. This unlikely pair became the best of friends. But when the prospector is killed by a stranger named Jake Irons, Brighty is left on his own. However, an old friend of the prospector is determined to find out who killed him. And eventually, with Brighty's help, he does. Fending off a mountain lion, meeting President Teddy Roosevelt, joining a herd of wild burros, and becoming trapped in a snowstorm are all part of Brighty's story. Based on actual incidents in the life of a Grand Canyon burro, Brighty's adventures have delighted generations of readers.
