The "chickings" peddler : memories, colony to the space age
This book of art and script is about the experiences of an Alabama boy that grew up on the streets of Birmingham, Alabama in the Nineteen Forties and has recorded these in story form with paint and ink. You will travel with him as he struggles to overcome poverty, ignorance, and lack of vision, It will begin when his family arrived in the colony of North Carolina in the Seventeen Hundreds and will take you into the space age. It will cover his spiritual journey and will reveal what he believes will happen in the future. These stories will speak, at times, with tongue-in-cheek humor while at other times with deep convictions. They will carry you across the Mojave Desert on a hot July night in 19658, thru the Okefenokee Swamp in Georgia to meet the Queen of the Okefenokee, to the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina.
