A field guide to dangerous animals of North America including Central America

Levy, Charles K
Genre:

Due to increased mobility, the number of people who hike, camp, fish, snorkel, scuba dive, or hunt in the great outdoors is increasing by leaps and bounds. This field guide provides readers with a concise survey of annnoying or dangerous animals and advises how to avoid them. Further, it provides the most recent and accurate methods of first aid and medical treatment, should it be needed. Knowing the regions these creatures inhabit and when they are apt to be encountered is important and this information is included. Within the six sections each of the animals is described in some detail; unlike the usual field guide only major anatomical features are stressed. Black and white drawings of each animal accompany the text, and thirty-three color photographs highlight some of the more interesting ones. Indeed, some of the deadliest animals are highly visible--their bright colors a sign of danger. Once the eye is trained one is better able to avoid these species.
