Now, just in time for the show's 50th anniversary, Hee Haw star Lulu Roman is releasing her long awaited autobiography, "This Is My Story; This Is My Song". "If you want all of the stories about what went on behind the scenes on Hee Haw, you'll find them all right here! Yes, I tell everything on Junior Samples and Grandpa Jones and all the rest. I go into detail about each cast member. But I also share the rest of my life story, one that no one has ever heard...until now." While life in the Hee Haw cornfield was all smiles, Lulu Roman's real life has included more than her share of tears. In "This Is My Story; This Is My Song" Roman recounts the sadness of her fifteen years in an orphan's home. But her biggest heartache came just before she started writing her book. "My youngest son died in October of 2017. At the time, I didn't think I could go on." Lulu says, "But when the spring of 2018 came, I decided that I did have a reason to go on. I had a book to write. I wanted to try to help people who might have lost a child or any loved one. I had always known that anyone who had been an orphan would relate to my story, but now there were even more folks who have gone through the same things I have." This deluxe, 274 page, hardback book covers the surprising story of how Roman got the name of Lulu, while she was in jail. The story behind her second name of Roman is even more unbelievable! The book's introduction is written by Country Music Hall of Fame member Randy Travis. Travis writes, "Ms. Lulu's story is worth hearing and her Godly example is a large, but kind footprint to follow. I'm fortunate to be able to call her 'friend'...Forever and Ever Amen!" "This Is My Story; This Is My Song" includes 200 rare photos from Lulu's personal collection.
