In the summer of 1950 a beautiful Polish refugee named Alicia Darr takes a job with the Kennedy family and meets their oldest son a charismatic congressman named Jack. Their summer fling soon turns into a serious relationship but the Kennedys have White House dreams and an immigrant wife would never work. After Joe Kennedy forbids their marriage Alicia trades Hyannis Port for Hollywood and then Hollywood for Rome. Over the years she is romanced by celebrities and royalty but Jack is never too far away.
