Cooking for Life: Culinary Literacy for Seniors

Sylva-- On Tuesday, May 2 at 11 AM, the Jackson County Public Library is hosting Jenna Kranz from Uncomplicated Kitchen for a unique cooking class geared towards senior citizens. This cohort-style program geared towards local area senior citizens will meet once (occasionally twice) a week for six weeks. The program will include hands-on cooking, support from an occupational therapist, grocery and farmers market trips, local food, and so much more. Registration is required. This program is in the Community Room and is free of charge, however sign-up is required as space is limited.

This program is part of the Kitchen Literacy Connection grant. This grant is made possible by funding from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) as administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (IMLS grant number LS-252476-OLS-22).
