Technical Services Library Assistant I

The Macon County Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic candidate to fill the part-time position of Tech Services Library Assistant I. The ideal candidate for this position will be a team player who can provide library services to meet the needs of the organization and the public. If you thrive in a rapidly changing environment while maintaining a friendly and helpful attitude, this may be the job for you.

Qualifications required for the Tech Services Library Assistant I include a High School Diploma or GED. One year of customer service experience is required. One year of library experience is preferred. The successful candidate should have a commitment to quality customer service with excellent communication skills. Strong technology skills and the ability to give attention to detail are a must. Preference will be given to those with previous library experience and those who can work a flexible schedule.

An applicant for this position must enjoy working with others and be able to work independently and exercise initiative. Responsibilities for the Tech Services Library Assistant I include processing library items and materials for addition or removal from the library collection, review and editing of catalog records, work cooperatively with other staff, assist on public service desks and assists with patron usage of library computers, printers and Wi-Fi, and other duties as assigned. This position also works cooperatively with staff throughout Fontana Regional Library to implement, and evaluate long and short-term goals and objectives.

The Tech Services Library Assistant I is a part-time position of 25 hours per week. Starting salary is $10.32 per hour accompanied by paid leave and retirement benefits. Major medical health insurance benefits are not applicable to part-time employees, but you will be entitled to Revive Health benefits. FRL provides a limited health benefit plan to all regular and probationary employees which includes virtual medical and mental health care and discounted lab and pharmacy options. The position is available February 3, 2025.
