Henna and Paint Tattoos with Mary DeHart Bennett
Mary has been captivated by all things Indian since she was 13 years old - the textiles, patterns, colors and food fascinate. Her horticultural background appreciates the unique staining properties of the henna plant and the natural, botanical ingredients of henna paste.
Originally from Maryland, she has lived in Franklin over 30 years and raised two sons in beautiful western NC.
Besides henna, she dabbles in many artistic mediums including painting, furniture upcycling and mosaics.
Mary was recently awarded an Arts Council of NC Artists Grant for a Garden Art mosaic project at the Cowee School Arts and Heritage Center. Members of the community are welcome to participate.
