Moths: The Natural History of Nature’s Nightshift
The Jackson County Public Library will host Dr. Michael Wall of Balsam Mountain Trust on Tuesday, July 16th at 6 p.m for a presentation on moths. Moths, mysterious fairies of the night, are incredibly diverse. For every species of butterfly, there are at least seven species of their (mostly) nocturnal cousins, moths. Pollinators, prey, herbivores, and sometime predators, moths are critical to healthy ecosystems. Explore the diversity, ecology, and behavior of these amazing critters in preparation for National Moth Week (July 20th-28th).
Dr. Michael Wall is an entomologist and the executive director of Balsam Mountain Trust. This program will be in the Community Room of the Jackson County Public Library. For more information please call the library at 828-586-2016.
