Philosophy Group: Morality and the Climate Crisis
We often think of the climate crisis as an environmental problem and sometimes an economic one. But it’s a moral problem as well. In fact, as the philosopher Stephen Gardiner argues, it is a convergence of three moral storms: a global storm of rich and poor, an intergenerational storm, and a theoretical storm. We will investigate each of these storms and how to confront them in this, the seventh series of Humanities in the Public Square. We will meet on four Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 for both lecture and discussion—April 2, 9, 16, and 23. Everyone is welcome; no background reading or knowledge is required. This program is sponsored by the Jackson County Arts Council. The Jackson County Public Library is a member of the Fontana Regional Library.
