You told us why you love your library, now tell your legislators!

February was Library Lovers' Month and the patrons at all Fontana Regional Libraries celebrated by writing down why they love their library. Everything from books, movies, computers, tablets, story times, and library staff were singled out as essential services that patrons love!

Even though Library Legislative Day and Library Lovers’ Month have passed, there are many things that you can do year round to help support your local library system. Anyone can speak up for your libraries and your voice counts! Library advocacy doesn't have to be complex; it can be as simple as telling others at the post office, bank, grocery store, school, or parties why you value your library.

You can send a letter, an email, make a call, or write an article and send it to the local paper to let your local representatives know the value that your public library adds to your community and why it needs their support. Contact information for Macon, Jackson, and Swain officials is available below.
