Jackson County Public Library Friends of the library

The Friends of the Jackson County Public Library (FOJCPL) was established in 1997 to help support the growth and development of the library, as well as to stimulate use of the library's resources and services. They operate primarily on the funds raised from the sale of books donated by the public at their used book store on Main Street in Sylva. They are completely staffed by volunteers who help with tasks such as: sorting, pricing and organizing books, serving on the Board, creating window displays, and serving on the various committees.

Over the past several years, FOJCPL contributions of both dues and volunteer time have raised funds to purchase/fund the following: books, books on tape, videos, CD's, DVD's, new computer equipment, media, shelving, seating in the periodical area, speakers/presenters for programs, and reference materials.

Whatever your talent, The Friends will welcome you as a volunteer!
