Thursday, May 18 at 1pm, Jackson County Public Library hosts Opportunities to Help During Crisis

Sylva-- On Thursday, May 18 at 1 PM, the Jackson County Public Library is hosting a free mental health seminar facilitated by Vaya Health. This program is in the Conference Room and is free of charge but registration is required.

An individual can experience a crisis suddenly and without warning, especially when symptoms of a mental illness are involved. As a caregiver or responder, possessing skills that support de-escalation is imperative. Did you know that you can help? This course provides information about crises in older adults, barriers to de-escalation, and specific methods of stabilizing support. Presented by Vaya Health’s Geriatric and Adult Mental Health Specialty Team. Registration is required. Please call the Library at (828) 586-2016 or email JCPL-Adults@fontanalib.org to register. If you're not able to attend this event, or you'd like to see what else they have to offer, feel free to visit https://www.vayahealth.com/calendar/ to sign up for free webinars offered by Vaya Health.

The Jackson County Public Library is a member of Fontana Regional Library.
