The Jackson County Public Library is hosting a jazz concert featuring Tyler Kittle on Thursday July 21st at 7:00 PM in the Community Room. This program is free of charge.
Jazz tenor saxophonist Tyler Kittle graduated from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee in 2001 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Jazz performance. He has been fortunate enough to be able to play jazz music throughout the United States and Europe with some of the best players in the world, such as Freddie Bryant, Jim McNeely, Bobby Shew, Pavel Wlosok, Walt Weiskopf, Ed Soph, Reggie Workman, Donnie McCaslin, Kalakuta Moziak (of Fela Kuti's band), and the Boy Bradman Big Band, based in Holland. He has also toured with the popular World music group, The Afromotive.
Tyler continues to play in and around western North Carolina, performing regularly in area restaurants, clubs and festivals. In the past he's taken part in the Asheville Jazz Composers Forum as a featured composer and performer and continues to compose new music.
