We’ve had a great summer of wonderful music at the Marianna Black Library, but all good things must come to an end (or, at least, a pause – until next summer!). This year’s Summer Music Series will conclude with an evening of acoustic music by local singer/songwriter team Liz and AJ Nance, on Thursday, August 25th, at 7:00 PM. Weather permitting, this program will be presented on the front porch of the library, otherwise it will be moved to the library auditorium. Plus, snacks and refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Marianna Black Library.
Liz has been playing music since she was 13 years old, when she took up the bass guitar to play along with her aunt and uncle. It wasn’t too long before she started playing the guitar and by the time she was 18 she was writing her own songs. Liz moved to Bryson City in 2004 to start a “summer job” at the NOC, where she met AJ. It wasn't long before they partnered up with music and partnered up for life. They now write most of their music and when they do cover a tune, they always add their own creative twists and turns.
This program is free and open to area residents and visitors. The library is located in downtown Bryson City at the corner of Academy and Rector. For more information or driving directions call the library at (828) 488-3030 or visit www.fontanalib.org/brysoncity.
