Tsunamis are destroying cities along the Pacific rim. Geophyisicist Alex Cave discovers an ancient alien laboratory under the Northern Pacific Ocean. He and his friends, Jadin and Okana, manage to get inside and meet Seti, an artificial intelligence in charge of the experiments, but it's program has been corrupted and it tricks Alex into entering the parallel universe experiment. Jadin and Okana think Seti is showing Alex the technology when he suddenly vanishes. An instant later, he reappears and topples out of the chamber onto the floor, unconscious. Jadin and Okana see the bleeding wound on Alex;s head and his clothes are different, and think he has traveled through time, but the truth will have a devastating effect on society as they know it..--back cover
