Award Winning Best Seller How to Raise Respectful Parents - Better Communication for Teen and Parent Relationships. Author Laura Lyles Reagan

The Marianna Black Library, in Bryson City, will be hosting local author Laura Lyles Reagan as she presents a workshop titled “How to Talk so Your Teen Listens, How to Listen so Your Teen Talks,” on Thursday April 27th, at 4:00 pm.

Laura Lyles Reagan is a family sociologist specializing in parent and teen communication. She helps parents and teens and launching young adults co-create communication breakthroughs to build positive futures together. Laura is also the award-winning author of How to Raise Respectful Parents: Better Communication for Teen and Parent Relationships.

Reagan's workshop is interactive. She will teach 2 communication skills and lead participants to role play real world scenarios that can be applied to their kids. Some of the scripts will come directly from her book, How to Raise Respectful Parents. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of how to use the communication skills to improve their communication dynamics with their children.

Before moving to the area, Reagan visited the Smokies in the spring and summer for years. When the pandemic hit and her parent coaching practice went online full time, she took the opportunity to move here. She is also using this opportunity to explore her Cherokee heritage.
