As part of a Summer Music Series, the Marianna Black Library presents an evening of music by Dolly Parton, performed by Kelli Dodd, on Thursday, June 29th, at 7:00 PM. You won’t want to miss this unique tribute to a true American music icon. Kelli takes you on a journey through Dolly's most influential songs with poignant stories of her life. You'll love being in the intimacy of the Marianna Black Library where you won't miss a note.

Kelli Dodd is an Alabama-based actor and singer, who has performed in regional houses across the country. Her recent credits include: Bright Star; Always...Patsy Cline; Kelli Sings Dolly! (the Legacy Theatre); the world premiere musical Darlin' Cory (Alliance Theatre); Million Dollar Quartet (Virginia Samford Theatre); The Bridges of Madison County (The Colorado Springs FAC); Dolly Parton’s Stampede and Christmas Celebration in Pigeon Forge, TN; Annie Get Your Gun (Thin Air Theatre Company); and Footloose! (The Legacy Theatre).

Kelli also performs a variety of folk, bluegrass, country, and traditional songs in solo performances, and you can often find her playing the piano or singing in church. She and her husband Kyle enjoy working as teaching artists with multiple theatre education programs. She is a visiting, full-time instructor of Spanish at Jacksonville State University, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Spanish.

This program is free and open to area residents and visitors. Other performances scheduled for the Summer Music Series include Frank Lee on July 13th, Lee Knight on 27th, Granny’s Mason Jar on August 10th, and Heidi Holton on August 24th.
