Franklin - February 1, 2018 will see the fourth annual Harry Potter Book Night celebrated at the Macon County Public Library and throughout the world. We’re getting ready to host an unforgettable night themed around Fantastic Beasts. The fun kicks off at 5:30 PM.
On Harry Potter Book Night: Fantastic Beasts, we’ll be sharing the wonder of J.K. Rowling’s unforgettable stories and, most excitingly, introducing the next generation of readers to the unparalleled magic of Harry Potter. Young wizards, witches and Muggles will be treated to an evening of fantastic activities, magic tricks, and readings from our favorite Harry Potter books! It all begins when the Sorting Hat decides who will be in which house, and then the students will rotate through magical classes. We’ll be transforming the library into Hogwarts, as well as serving up snacks inspired by some of the scrumptious wizard foods in the books. Everyone is also encouraged to dress up as a Harry Potter book character for our costume contest.
Cristen Dando, director of youth services, says, ‘We are so excited to be joining up with schools, libraries, bookshops and community centers throughout the world to celebrate the fourth Harry Potter Book Night. We have always been fans of the Harry Potter books because they get so many children excited about reading.’
