Please stop by the library from April 22-May 2 to view a selction of paintings by local artist Elena Kister. Elena came to Cashiers, NC from Kyiv, Ukraine (at the beginning of the war with Russia) to live with family. She has a classical European art education and also worked in art and design for most of her life in Ukraine and is continuing her art career here in the US now. Her use of color and the playful compassion in the eyes of her animals is captivating. Elena is also a joy to speak with and despite her abrupt departure from Ukraine, she has the optimism of a child, seeing all of the beauty in her surroundings.
