On Friday, October 3 at 2:00 p.m., Diane Pike Helier will stop by the Albert Carlton-Cashiers Community Library to talk about her memoir A Widow’s Fire: An Intimate Memoir of Heartbreak, Survival, and Moving On. A Widow's Fire is an honest and emotional look at life after losing her husband Al following twenty-five years of marriage. Suddenly faced with a new and uncertain future, Diane writes openly about the ups and downs of caregiving, deep grief, and finding her way forward. She talks about the quiet struggles many face—like exhaustion, judgment from others, and learning how to feel joy in life again.
A brief Q&A will follow Diane's presentation. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, stop by the library's circulation desk or call (828) 743-0215.
