January Let's Get Japaneseee!

An exploration of the traditions of Japanese New Year's and the customs observed.  After a short presentation, Etsuko Modlin and Yumiko Ono will help participants craft their own 'Daruma Dolls' - traditional dolls used in making New Year's resolutions.  Participants will also learn about Japanese Calligraphy while making their own 2026 calendars.  Lastly, everyone will enjoy Isobeyaki - grilled mochi - a sticky rice cake that is eaten by Japanese families at New Year's.
