The Macon County Public Library, a member of the Fontana Regional Library, and the Friends of the Library are pleased to be installing their second Little Free Library at the Iotla Methodist Church. This will be conveniently located near the Iotla Valley Elementary School. The first Little Free Library was installed at the Franklin Town Hall in October 2014, and has been a great place for people of all ages to find good things to read. If you’re not familiar with Little Free Libraries, check out their website for more information.
Our Little Library, built by a dedicated volunteer, was inspired by the architecture of our larger library. The Little Library will be stocked with books collected by members of the Iotla Methodist Church, books donated to the Friends of the Library, and children’s books donated to Read2Me. Everyone is encouraged to use the Little Library to find something to read, where they can “take a book and return a book.”
We’d love to have you join us to celebrate the installation of the Little Library at the Iotla Methodist Church on Friday, May 1st at 1:00pm (weather permitting). This will be an informal, brief event. If you can’t make it, no problem – the Little Library will be there for you on your next visit to the Iotla community!
