From Thursday, October 11 through Monday, October 15, the NC Cardinal library catalog (shared by Fontana Regional Library and more than 160 libraries across the state) will undergo necessary maintenance and upgrading. During that time, the online catalog will not be fully available either to patrons or to library staff.
Fontana Regional Library is stepping out of the stacks to bring “Libraries on Tap: brewing scavenger hunt” to Jackson, Macon and Swain counties. “Libraries on Tap” is a collaboration between Fontana Regional Library and local breweries.
With the American Library Association, Fontana Regional Library will celebrate Banned Books Week 2018 September 23-29. The nationwide observance brings together the entire book community — librarians, booksellers, authors, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types — in shared support of the freedom to seek out and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.
Fontana Regional Library now offers anyone with a library card free access to eMagazines, for reading on any mobile device or computer. This new service joins our popular eBooks and digital audiobooks selection – all available 24/7 from the library’s digital collection.
September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the Fontana Regional Library joins with the American Library Association and public libraries nationwide to make sure that people of all ages have the most important tool for lifelong learning -- a free library card.

Celebrate the installation of the Little Free Library at the Parker Meadows Complex on 4199 Patton Road west of Franklin on Thursday, May 24th at 10:00am (weather permitting).
