  • All locations will be closed Tuesday, December 24th; Wednesday, December 25th; and Thursday, December 26th.

Join us Thursday, August 25th, 7:00 p.m. in the Macon County Public Library Meeting Room for “Philly Cheese Steak Meets Southern Fried Everything."

Storytellers Lee Lyons and Nancy Reeder, both residents of Macon County, have teamed up to share stories at the library. They’ve worked together on and off the stage with the Highlands Cashiers Players and are also members of the Highlands Writers’ Group and the Asheville Storytelling Circle.

Nancy grew up in Pennsylvania. She taught elementary school for twenty-three years where her passion for storytelling developed. Among the numerous places she has told is ‘Tellabration’ at the Folk Art Center in Asheville. Lee grew up in South Carolina and as she says in her short book of essays, Literal Lee, she has no credentials at anything.

With wit and wisdom, their stories show how they are different and even, alike.
