We are so happy to invite you to sign up and be a part of our Summer Reading! Our summer theme, Color Our World, will run June 3 - August 8 with lots of programs, activities, and prizes along the way! Registration begins June 3. Make sure to check out our calendar for everything we have going on!! We are going to have an awesome summer because you are going to be part of all the fun! Macon County Public Library Summer Learning Program 2025

Summer is here! We are so excited for you to be a part of our Summer Learning Program 2025! Registration begins May 19th and our theme for this summer is "Color Our World." We will have many different programs for children to enjoy throughout the summer beginning on June 2nd. Sonia Brooks will be returning to play music with our preschoolers. Special guests Cameron Moore will be telling us about the colorful world of insects and Dr. Susan Ray with the Franklin Gem and Mineral Society will be offering a fun program on colorful gems and minerals. Mainspring will be educating us on the colorful world of fish. Patrick Brannon will be returning to teach us about how animals use camouflage in nature and colorful birds. We will have food and nutrition program opportunities with Kirstyn Smotherman of the Health Department and Kaiya Pickens from the Cooperative Extension office that will include tasty treats. Special guest, Michelle Updike, is generously providing two art programs this summer. We will be hosting a NASA program with NASA Nick as well as offering an opportunity to see a NASA program in our portable planetarium. Our Foam Bubble Brigade party will be returning on June 19th and this time with TWO CANNONS, thanks to the sponsorship of Friends of the Library, so double the bubble fun! Thanks to the sponsorship of the Arts Council of Macon County, we will have two visual arts programs with Carol Conti, a music program with Tom Tyre, and a summer finale program with a special visit from the NC Symphony Music Discovery. Our calendar is full of many other events so check it out here or come by the children's department at the Macon County Public Library to pick up a copy. Jackson County Public Library Summer Learning Program 2025
Jackson County Public Library Kids and Teens (ages 0-18)
Come join us at the Jackson County Public Library for our annual Summer Learning Program, as we "Color Our World" together! Registration begins June 2nd and can be done in-person at the Youth Services desk or online at http://jacksoncountylibrarync.readsquared.com. Complete the reading log to earn prizes, which will be awarded throughout the summer until the end of August. Additionally, our regular programs including Artrageous, Rock & Read, and Teens will return starting June 9th, along with favorites with a fun summer twist like Baby's First Art Studio, Read with Bailey, and Boredom Busters, now with Saturday Streaming in the Storytime Room! We are also proud to offer a new weekly program "Bring-Your-Own Book Club" for upper elementary grades, as well as one-time events like Bad Art Family Night, Bingo for Books, Professor Whizzpop's Magic Show, an interactive movie showing, and many others! Adult Summer Reading Bingo Program
Our annual Summer Reading Bingo Program will kick off on Monday, June 2nd and will run until Tuesday, September 2nd. This year’s theme is “Sweet Summer Reads” with fun, food-based reading prompts. To get a bingo card, come by the Reference Desk or email us at jcpl-adults@fontanalib.org. A “bingo” is five filled-in squares in a row: across, up/down, or diagonally. Each bingo earns a raffle ticket towards a $25 gift certificate from one of ten Sylva and Dillsboro businesses. Complete as many bingos as you like! Marianna Black Library Youth Services for Summer 2025
Summer is here! We are excited for you to be a part of our Summer Learning Program 2025!
Registration begins June 9th and our theme for this summer is "Color Our World." Reading will begin on June 15th, with weekly prizes that get better with each week you read, including colored pencils, a sketch book, crayons, and more!
We will have many different programs for children to enjoy throughout the summer beginning in June. Preschool Storytime starts again on June 12th, where we will start our colored themed storytimes. Storytime families may look forward to new silly songs, riddles, jokes, sensory play, funny stories, felt board rhymes, and movement games. Kids Club will begin again on June 17th, with programs throughout the summer that include: Button making (kindness buttons to share), glow in the dark lanterns, an outdoor obstacle course, tie dye butterfly t-shirts, pony bead kindness bracelets, acrylic painting on canvas, scavenger hunts, and many more arts, crafts, and S.T.E.A.M. projects.
On June 24th, we will have Spriggly’s Beescaping coming to the Library to share an educational bee program, including a story and a craft. We will also have an NC Symphony & Music Discovery Program on July 30, at 1pm for kids ages 3 and up. Please come to the Marianna Black Library to pick up Calendars for June, July, & August to see specific dates for programs.
