Love of Books and Writing

I've been going to the Jackson County Library since before I could write in cursive. It used to be at the Sylva police station, and that was where I discovered my love of books. We would check out our books and we were always excited to read them, but need to do chores first. :(

A great experience, no matter your age

My grandson and I love the Jackson County Library in Sylva. Every Tuesday we attend the kids library hour. They read to the kids, dance, sing and do exercises. The kids do arts and crafts, which is fun for them all. They also play with legos, trucks, playdough and felt boards. The kids library hour has been very good for my grandson, teaching him skills, joy of stories, dancing and art and crafts. It also teaches him how to get along with kids and good listening skills. At first I didn't like reading but the first time I checked out books I felt like I was being introduced to a whole new world!

When my kids were babies the librarians would walk around with them in the stroller so I could get things done! We have been regulars ever since!
