Check out the many events and activities occurring at your library and around the community in preparation for the Total Solar Eclipse happening August 21st. All of our libraries have free solar eclipse glasses available to the public, while supplies last. Please check with your library to find out when you can pick up your pair! You can view the NASA Eclipse 101 Safety guide for information about how to safely view the solar eclipse.

The Jackson County Public Library is hosting a Solar Eclipse informational session in the Community Room. Retired WCU professor and avid photographer Roger Bacon will lead a discussion about the history and science of Solar Eclipses, Solar Eclipse safety, and some specific techniques for photographing the Eclipse.
