Lost without the Library

Anonymous

When my children were young in the 80's and 90's, we came to the Macon Co. Public Library more than once a week. During the summmers, they excelled in the reading programs.

I've helped them carry hundreds of books home during those months. We would've been lost without the library.

Like Going Home

Libraries scared me years ago. Now they are like going home!

Great Blessing

Anonymous

Local libraries have been a great blessing to me since early childhood. Being an avid reader and too poor to buy books that interested me, the library furnished my needs and pleasure.

The local librarians in Rabun county would let me check out 20 or 30 books at once (we only went to town maybe once or twice a month - this was in the 1950's and 60's).

The Information and knowledge I have is primarily from books in the library.

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable

Ms. Wallace has done a remarkable job given the county's parsimonious attitude regarding funding. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and thankfully, never too busy to help. Thank you!

Dream Come True

Charlene I.

Libraries have always been an important part of my life. I've been an avid reader ever since I learned to read and without libraries, I wouldn't have been able to read as many books - who has the money or room for every wonderful book? Even when I lived away from Jackson County, getting a library card was a top priority. Having our wonderful library here in Sylva is such a blessing, because I can not imagine a life without books. Best of all, I now work at this beautiful library - proof that dreams do come true!
