Recently, Macon County Public Library received a donation of ten new, fully stocked backpacks, to check-out for day hikes around Franklin and Macon County. The packs and their contents were the gift of North Carolina State University student Kaitlyn Sutton.
Scott Watkins Fine Photography, presented by Franklin Picture Framing, will be on display in the Macon County Public Library Meeting Room during the month of August. A reception held Friday August 7th between 5:00 - 7:00pm. Join us for refreshments and meet the artist.
The Fontana Regional Library is excited to host the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences as they present the children’s program, “Interesting Invertebrates.” Children will meet live invertebrates such as millipedes, crayfish, tarantulas, scorpions and Madagascar hissing cockroaches in an up-close, safe look at animals without backbones. The Astronomy Club of Asheville has donated a high-quality table-top telescope to the Macon County Public Library to use for programs and to check out to patrons for their own use.
