Recently, Macon County Public Library received a donation of ten new, fully stocked backpacks, to check-out for day hikes around Franklin and Macon County. The packs and their contents were the gift of North Carolina State University student Kaitlyn Sutton.

The Fontana Regional Library is excited to host the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences as they present the children’s program, “Interesting Invertebrates.” Children will meet live invertebrates such as millipedes, crayfish, tarantulas, scorpions and Madagascar hissing cockroaches in an up-close, safe look at animals without backbones.
