Summer Learning & Reading Programs

Kids and Teens (ages 0-18) can sign up anytime after June 6th for the Summer Learning Program and get their first prize. Sign up in-person at the library, at, or download the Read Squared app. All kids have to do is read (or be read to) 20 minutes a day throughout the Summer to earn prizes. They will get a prize for every 7 days they read, with a total of 7 prizes throughout the Summer. Like last year, we have separate reading logs for ages 0-3 (activity based), 3-11, and 12+.

This summer the adults are playing bingo! The bingo card is full of reading prompts to inspire you to try new authors and genres, read more widely, and to learn new things. There are also opportunities to read through your own "to be read" list. Read any books you'd like to satisfy the prompts or read any of our suggestions. Sign up at this link or stop by the Reference Desk to register. We hope you're ready to read!

Here's what you need to know:

  • Summer Reading Bingo begins on May 27th. The last day to get a raffle ticket is Tuesday, September 6th at 8:00 PM
  • Each "bingo" earns a raffle ticket towards a $25 gift certificate to one of ten Jackson County businesses. Bring this sheet to the Library to get your raffle ticket each time you get a "bingo."
  • Earn an additional raffle ticket for each book review you submit to the Library. Send your review to or drop it off at the Reference Desk by September 6th at 8:00 PM. Be sure to include the title and author!
  • All library card holders 18 years and older are invited to participate. If you don't have a library card, please call or visit us to find out how to get one for free.
