The Jackson County Public Library will host an intro to Fluid Art including a short tutorial on how to properly mix paints for different styles of fluid art. Then we will learn the different ways of doing a flip cup style painting. This will include how to decide color choices, how to layer paints, and then how to manipulate your painting into a beautiful abstract style painting! After witnessing a Mafia murder, slick saxophone player Joe and his long-suffering buddy Jerry improvise a quick plan to escape from Chicago with their lives. Disguising themselves as women, they join an all-female jazz band and hop a train bound for sunny Florida. While Joe pretends to be a millionaire to win the band's singer, Sugar (Marilyn Monroe), Jerry finds himself pursued by a real millionaire as things heat up and the mobsters close in.
Spice Appreciation Club is a monthly program that gives participants the opportunity to cook with an extraordinary flavor. Participants pick up a spice kit at the Reference Desk and meet on Tuesday, February 18th at 6 PM. It's like a book club, but instead of reading we're cooking. Many participants bring food made with the spice to share but it is not a requirement. This month we’re cooking with mace.
