Meeting Room

The Library's meeting room is a suitable space for up to 154 people or 60 people with seating. It includes an LCD projector with a 10'x10' projector screen. The AV system in the meeting room allows you to connect a multitude of devices and you can configure setup with the touch screen. The meeting room can be reserved 45 days in advance.

The Nantahala Hiking Club will bring Nancy Reeder and her new book, Unsheltered. She'll be telling stories from the book and from her Appalachian Trail hikes.

Walking with Spring - Dark Sky Movement with Bobby Bradley

This event also coincides with the library's Macon to Mars program which will culminate in a Star Party on the evening on Saturday, April 25.

Walking with Spring - Pink Moonrise Walk

Join us for an evening at the Macon County Library where we will be guided slowly by sensory invitations to explore the meandering trails just behind the library. During this 2-hour experience, there will be a mix of leisurely strolling, observation, and reflection both individually and as a group. The finale of the evening will be a hilltop pink moonrise viewing.
Please bring: weather appropriate clothes and shoes, water, snacks, something to sit on such as a yoga mat or blanket, flashlight or headlamp with a red light setting, and anything else to make our time outside more comfortable. Portable expressive elements of choice like journals, paints, sketchbooks are also highly encouraged.
