The Marianna Black Library will continue the Summer Music Series on Thursday, July 14th, with the “sweetest” blues singer in Jackson County, Karen “Sugar” Barnes at 7:00PM. 

The Jackson County Public Library will host a free 90-minute Saving Money using Technology Workshop on Wednesday, July 6th at 5:45 PM.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, this event has been postponed. We currently do not have a date rescheduled for this program.

The Mariana Black Library, in Bryson City, and the Swain Cooperative Extension presents “Go, Slow, Whoa!” a multi-part series of programs to area children this summer!

The next community music jam at the Marianna Black Library, in Downtown Bryson City, will be Thursday, July 7th, at 6:00 PM, in the library auditorium.   Anyone with a guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, dulcimer - anything unplugged - is invited to join.  Singers are also welcomed to join in.  Or, you can just stop by and listen.

The Jackson County Public Library in downtown Sylva will offer a free class on editing digital photos online on Wednesday, June 29th at 5:45 p.m.

The Mariana Black Library, in Bryson City, presents “Going for Gold” with Professor Whizzpop, on Thursday, June 23rd at 3:00 PM, as part of the Summer Reading program. Professor Whizzpop will also be at Jackson County Public Library in Sylva on Friday, June 24th at 11am, at Albert Carlton-Cashiers Community Library on Friday, June 24th at 3pm, at Macon County Public Library in Franklin on Tuesday, June 28th at 10am, and at Hudson Library in Highlands on Tuesday, June 28th at 2:30pm.

As part of a summer series of music, the Marianna Black Library is proud to present the traditional music of William Ritter and Sarah Ogletree on Thursday, June 23rd, at 7:00 PM.  Weather permitting, this program will be presented on the front lawn of the library, otherwise it will be moved to the library auditorium.

Wednesday, June 22nd, 7:00 p.m. in the Macon County Public Library Meeting Room: “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged and Revised”

Western Carolina University has a new outreach program called WCU Road Works. They’re traveling to the library to perform a parody of the Bard known for comically shortened scenes, pop culture references and occasional audience participation.
